What Christmas Should Be

The Philippines is known as the “Land of Fiestas” at Christmas time, this is especially true. We Filipinos are proud to proclaim our Christmas celebration as the longest and merriest in the world. It begins formally on December 16 up to 24, until the first Sunday of January – the official end of the season.
Extravagant symbols are being put up. Christmas trees of different sizes, Christmas balls, Christmas lights and lanterns, and many more. Caroling here and there. Buying gifts for loved ones like clothes and shoes. All are busy.
Christmas Eve in our country is one of the traditions most families celebrate. It is a night without sleep, preparing abundant foods to be served after the mass. These foods include lechon, hamon, pancit, spaghetti, macaroni, barbecue and cake.
What is Christmas anyway? It comes from the Mass of Christ. A Mass Service is where Christians remember that Jesus came down for us. The manger scene is actually the reason why we celebrate the season. It immortalizes the true story about the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world on the Messiah.
Christmas should be simple, as where Jesus was born. Share our time, talent and treasures to the needy as the three wise men did. Show our great love not only to those who love us, but even to those who do not. And above all to give thanks to the reason of the season.

With one heart, let us lower down our celebration, but LEVEL UP the Christmas Spirit itself.
As The Weather Changes …

Weather is blue skies and puffy white clouds; torrential rains with gale force winds; twisters ; flashes of lightning or snow gently falling to the ground.
The weather, or climate as some people say, is the state of the atmosphere at any given time, it is experienced everywhere on Earth, it varies considerably from place to place, day to day, and season to season.
But there is also a time when our climate is abnormal. For example, it rains during summer and the sun shines brightly during winter which causes glaciers and icebergs to melt. This is called climate change. All of the things we do that destroys destroys the environment can contribute to it. The most famous cause of climate change is global warming.

If we want to still save Mother Earth, we must make a pledge that we must not do anything that destroys it. Because if our climate will be still changing, we don’t know what will happen in the future.
English is the Key

English? Bridge? How come they are connected with each other?
At first thought, yes, it is impossible that the word “English” can be connected to the word “Bridge.” But as we dig deeper t its main idea, we can realize that these two words can merge together and can form one ideal thought.
English is the most popular and most used language in the whole world. Merely all countries had already learned on how to speak English. And if you ask me on what are the importance of learning this language, I can tell you the main reason for that. That is because English serves as the bridge so that different people s with different languages can adapt English so that they can not only communicate with each other but they can also understand each other’s thoughts and ideas on the topic they are talking about.

And the reason why our theme for this year is “Going Global Through English Language” is because they want us to use English so that even if we travel around the globe, English will still be our guide in meeting our goals in life.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T

“Each one of us is an island unto himself, and the bridges that lead to other people have been destroyed by conflicts of races, sex and self-interest” said James Baldwin.
Each one of us have rights and opportunities that are exactly the same as the other people of this nation. But there are those people who feel that they are more superior than others. We can see managers sometimes that talk harshly to his or her employees. In addition, there are also bosses that chooses his or her family members and relatives instead of the better one during job openings. The act so called bullying is very popular in the whole world because of its immorality and brutality. By the situations enumerated, we can determine that these are some ways on how to remove the rights and opportunities of an individual.

But, we can still stand a chance just to attain the rights and opportunities of each and every one of us. Because our respect to one another is the key to everyone’s success.

REFLECTION

REFLECTION

Internet is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. We can do researches on our assignments in our school. We can talk to our friends and love ones even how far you are from them by means of social media. Also, we can share our thoughts to everyone.
And speaking about sharing your thoughts, I published 4 posts in my blogger this Second Grading. In the other hand, I also learned how to use HTML tags. These tags are important because the purpose of a web browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari is to read HTML documents and display them as web pages. So if we posted more information to the internet, all of us will learn from each other’s thoughts.
They said that ‘Knowledge is the key to success’. Yet, it is true for it can help you to reach your ambitions in life.

My Teacher, My Hero

My Teacher, My Hero

Do you know that heroes don't always dress in a superhero suit? A hero can wear anything and they can be as simple as we are. Everyone can be a hero, not necessarily save lives but we can be heroes on our own way. But did you know that heroes are hard to find? I found my hero and she is a teacher.
What could be in a school without our teachers? There would be no students as well that in fact, students will not be able to go to school and learn what they are supposed to learn. There will be ignorance. Having our teachers, we were able to learn and understand things easier and quicker. Because of their teachings, a lot of people have reached and accomplished their goals in life.
Our second parents, our teachers have helped a lot in the contribution of our success. They will forever be a treasure. This teacher’s day was a good way of expressing gratitude to our beloved teachers whom are the reason why we have accomplished most of what we have accomplished until the present. Thank you teachers! We love you!

"Unravel the Causes, Build the Solution, Empower Science Clubbers to Action"

"Unravel the Causes, Build the Solution, Empower Science Clubbers to Action"

Earth. It is the only planet in the whole universe where we, people, can live and survive. It is one of the greatest creations of God.
But, what are doing to it. We are destroying the only place we can live in. Throwing garbage anywhere specially to the bodies of water; illegal cutting of trees and Kaingin system; air pollution caused by smokes from factories, cars and cigarettes; plus, the CFCs emitted by our refrigerators and air conditioning units are just few of the many ways we are doing everyday that could totally destroy our Mother Earth.
Yet, it is not too late to fix this problem. We can still build a solution and all of us must act not tomorrow, but today. Remember, God had created us to become stewards of our very own, Mother Earth.

Modern Day Hero

Modern Day Hero

Nowadays, kids love to watch television shows or movies that have characters of super heroes because these heroes have supernatural powers.
Superman can carry a heavy load like a car, Spiderman can use webs so that we swing on midair, and Thor can call a lightning and strike it to enemies. But, these things are no match to the things that my hero can do. She carried me for nine months in her womb. She guided me since I was born. She became my first teacher and taught me about good morals and how to have a right conduct. She always tell me if I am wrong or right so that I will not lost my tracks in getting my goals in life. She disciplines me always so that I will become a good person.
With my descriptions above, I thought you had already guessed the hero of my life. And yes, you’re right. The hero that I am talking about is my mom. And there is no better hero than her.

BUWAN NG WIKA

"WIKA NATIN ANG DAANG MATUWID"

Philippines is one of the countries in the whole world that uses many sort of languages. But, there is a language that is the most common or most dominant of them all and it is what we call the "Wikang Filipino".
This phrase told by Rizal challenges all the Filipinos to love and care their own language which is very precious to all of us.

REFLECTION

They all say that high school life is the best moment of a persons life because there are so many happy and sad times, problems and joys, and trials and hardships. But we all accept these especially the bad times.
During the first grading of my fourth year high school life, I learned a lot. First, I learned how to make and use a blog. Second, I learned how the Internet improve every generation from 1957 up to now. But during these learnings I've experience, there are times that I face difficulties, problems and challenges. I don't have a lot of notes because we only meet 1-2 days a week. I am also hard in making my personal blog because I don't have much time making it.
But, these problems and hardships serve as inspiration for me to strive and study harder so that I will do better on the next gradings of this school year.

"Gutom at Malnutrisyon, Sama-sama Nating Wakasan"

Nowadays, we all know that many of the Filipinos are suffering poverty. they also struggle just to live. One of the effects or results of this problem is starvation and malnutrition.
The word starvation tackles about the insufficient food a person eat. This happens when a person did not eat the right amount that satisfies his or her whole body for his or her everyday works or chores. Malnutrition is the result when a person exceeds or lacks his daily intake of food. This problem is the cause of obese and underweight people. If we fight starvation and malnutrition, more people will become physically fit to do their task with alertness and vigor without feeling any fatigue or anxiety.
So the Ilocos Sur National High School, especially the Technology and Livelihood Education Department, encourages to fight these problems by the programs and activities they implement. If we support these programs, there will be a time that all people will be healthy and well.

State of the Nation Address (SONA)

The State of the Nation Address is annually delivered by a president in the Republic of the Philippines on the 4th Monday of the month July.
One of the President’s highlight on his speech this year is that, the government will increase the graduates of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority or what we call TESDA. We all know that TESDA is a government agency that offers free education to poor but deserving students. This message of the president encourages the students to strive harder on their studies to fulfill their own dreams and ambitions in life. Parents of the students are also happy because they will not pay fees anymore. Their only problem is the allowance that they give everyday.
Based on the speech of our president, more people will love him if all what he declared will be done and be performed well.
